We are committed to “raising the bar” in every aspect of our repair business.
On all surgical instrumentation we repair, we are committed to superior quality standards that result in impeccable instrument performance. Our repair capabilities include all types of hand held stainless steel instrumentation, (general, ortho, neuro, and micro, etc.) and endoscopic instrumentation.
A well known fact in this industry is that a surgical instrument should be used only for its intended purpose, however, that is not always the case. The continual misuse of surgical instrumentation is one of the main causes for malfunctioning instruments and poor instrument performance is a threat to a preferred patient outcome in the operating room.
Our technicians have extensive training and experience to ensure that your surgical instruments are repaired to like-new condition which will help save considerable expenses for replacements and minimize delays in the operating room.
Sharpening:
Contrary to many opinions, sharpening a scissor or any sharp/cutting instrument is a difficult skill to learn; not everyone can sharpen surgical instruments. It takes time and meticulous training to learn the various repair techniques and nothing is more frustrating for a surgeon than scissors that don’t function properly. InstruMedics is able to sharpen all makes and types of sharp or cutting instruments and return them to their original designed function.
Alignments:
The mishandling of surgical instruments is the one of the major causes for instrument repair and specifically alignment problems. Like sharpening, in order for the surgical instruments to function properly they need to be correctly aligned. Forceps, clamps and scissors, for example, need to have their jaws perfectly meet and align. InstruMedics has full instrument alignment capabilities.
Powder Coating and Plating:
Chipped plating can cause corrosion and rusting to instruments, therefore, using a repair technician who can recoat and plate your instruments is essential. InstruMedics has a dedicated powder coat technician within our National Repair Lab, providing quick turn-around for recoating all insulated surgical instruments, including laparoscopic, bipolar and monopolar, forceps, retractors, specula, and defib paddles. Instruments can be powder coated for the purpose of insulation or organization offering a wide range of colors. We offer gold, silver, chrome plating as well as laser safe finishes.
