For standard repairs, InstruMedics strives to maintain a 24-48 hour turnaround time after approval in order to proceed. Instruments that require extensive repair or parts may exceed that time; all customers are advised of any delays.
How often should my instruments be serviced?
As a courtesy, InstruMedics offers an evaluation service. Depending on the size of your facility, the volume of procedures, types of procedures, etc. we can make a schedule recommendation for your instruments. The usual rule of thumb is based on the type of instrument and the frequency of re-processing.
"Repair" vs. "Replace"; how do I decide which is more appropriate?
InstruMedics technicians are trained to detect when an instrument is beyond its economical, functional life. Each instrument is evaluated and function tested. The technician is able to determine if it is safe and economical to repair the instrument. In most cases, InstruMedics is able to significantly extend the life of the instrument. If the technician deems the instrument damaged or worn beyond repair, a recommendation to replace the instrument will be made.
