The
InstruMedics
Story
InstruMedics LLC is
privately owned & operated
and functioning as the exclusive repair service provider
to Teleflex Medical, marketing its services as Teleflex
Medical Repair,
responsible solely for repairs worldwide for the Teleflex
Medical brands of surgical instrumentation such as but not
limited to Kmedic, Pilling, and WECK. InstruMedics
offers the unique combination of skills to service all brands
of surgical instrumentation and equipment under one roof
by co-developing a “Custom Service Solution” with
our customers. Service capabilities include all types
of hand held stainless steel instrumentation, (general, ortho,
neuro, and micro, etc.), endoscopic instrumentation, to rigid
and flexible scopes, power equipment, video cameras, phaco
hand pieces, fiber optic light cables, air hoses, case carts,
surgical instrument containers, harmonic scalpels and more! Due
to our comprehensive experience in the hospital service industry
since 1979, our combined knowledge of hospital needs and
challenges results in our ability to provide superior maintenance
and repair to the majority of instrumentation and equipment
at an overall value while demonstrating savings to your institution.
Innovations such as our “InSite” hospital-based
repair lab is only one example that offers our
headcount at your disposal to manage and service your surgical
instrumentation and equipment 5-6 days every week right
inside your facility and has been operational at several
institutions for years! InSite is much more than
a concept or promise supported by the fact InstruMedics
has approximately ten InSites up and operational today
across the country and several others under construction
or negotiation. Van-based repairs also available.
InstruMedics LLC is NOT just another
repair company. Our method of operating is to provide
true pro-active
maintenance with an emphasis on failure-prevention in addition
to ‘break-fix’ service for surgical instrumentation
and equipment. We are a rare “hybrid” company
being part OEM (original equipment manufacturer) through
our relationship with Teleflex Medical as well as part “3rd
party”, such that our private ownership lends itself
greatly to flexibility and customizing repair and service
solutions for our customers. We
seek input from our customers on an on-going basis to continuously improve
our service and value to our client/partners. Our technicians are
measured on quality of repairs and satisfying customer needs, not simply what
volume of repairs are completed.
The Evolution of Teleflex Medical Repair-
1979 marked the birth
date of Surgical Instrument Repair Services LLC, also known
as SIRS. Located in Milford, Michigan it became the
V. Mueller “OnSite” repair service. The
business evolved from one on-location repair van to a fleet
of over seventy vans nation wide by 1999! The constantly
changing service industry created additional business opportunities
leading to the development of a scope repair service (CaRepairtm),
Instrument leasing (Opextm), and the V. Mueller National
Repair Center. In April 1999, the ownership reached
an acquisition agreement with Allegiance Healthcare
Corporation, then an operating division of Cardinal
Health and the SIRS businesses became part of corporate
America.
ENTER… InstruMedics
LLC. In
January 2003, the founder of the SIRS businesses,
Lou Agoston, and the Director of Service Operations, Michael
Theros re-entered the surgical equipment service market and
launched a new service business. In March 2003, InstruMedics
LLC reached a co-marketing arrangement with Teleflex
Medical to operate as their exclusive repair service
company providing factory quality repairs worldwide.
Technicians and Training- All
InstruMedics Repair technicians are salaried, company
employees who undergo a rigorous and thorough apprenticeship
program initially lasting a minimum of twelve weeks under
close supervision. Training programs have been written
by factory trained master technicians who mentor each apprentice
during initial training. Training
includes a combination of video, classroom/textbook, observation
and hands-on development in a repeatable, progressive, controlled
process. Technical training is on-going, incorporating annual
updates based on new technology, techniques, and industry
innovations. All technicians are cross-trained and
tested periodically which results in a technician who capably
handles all hand-held stainless steel instrumentation. Weekly
telephone dialogue as well as internet/video conferencing,
and email communication is maintained to maximize communication
and demonstrate support by our National Repair Lab located
in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Our business philosophy… is
to combine the core values of the past with the latest
technology and the highest quality of repairs supported
by a level of customer service and attention to detail
never experienced before! The
result provides our customers measurable
management solutions and a value proposition to reduce expenditures,
prolong instrument and equipment life, and produce an opportunity
for better outcomes. By focusing on Pro-Active
maintenance, total refurbishment and “failure prevention” coupled
with relying on over fifty years experience in the hospital
service industry, in conjunction with Teleflex Medical’s
worldwide presence, we will improve current processes utilizing
our unique combination of our personnel, technology, repair
services and other capabilities. Our understanding
of your business and “work-with” attitude is
unsurpassed in the repair service industry. |
